It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of the Riddick movies (and video games). Pitch Black is a fantastic exercise in all killer, no filler genre filmmaking. Its follow-up, The Chronicles of Riddick, is admittedly bloated, but I unabashedly love it. I would never hold it against Vin Diesel and director David Twohy for having such huge ambitions. It's still a stunning looking sci-fi fantasy epic that holds a special place in my heart.

Now, after years of waiting for producers to take another gamble, we have a new Riddick movie, simply titled Riddick. Here is the first teaser (of a teaser) trailer. This time, the filmmakers have gone back to the stripped-down story approach that made the first film such a kick-ass ride. Gotta say, I think it's going to be excellent.
