New ROBOCOP Trailer is the Best Argument Against Remakes Ever

The first trailer for José Padilha's ROBOCOP remake has officially arrived. Arriving alongside it, is the crushing realisation that this is an actual movie that exists, and not just something that appeared in your night terrors like you'd originally hoped.

Okay, so let's give this film the same benefit of the doubt that we gave the TOTAL RECALL remake (which turned out to be brilliant*) and just judge it for what it is -- an incredibly generic looking action movie with unconvincing effects, a complete lack of humour and personality, and a hideous design for RoboCop's suit/body. Not once does the new Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) look like a machine, but rather a guy wearing a dumb plastic costume. Iron Man, this is not. Still, who knows, maybe it will turn out to be great....
