Hello fellow Maniacs. We have a little bit of an Exclusive to drop upon you. Introducing the new trailer for Norman England’s new independent film NEW NEIGHBOR. Which we are proud to inform will be playing at the 2013 Monster Film Festival.
The film stars Asami, best known to you horrorphiles as the avenging mother in THE MACHINE GIRL, and Ayano as two neighbours whose paths intertwine. Directed by Norman England, who has long been associated as a documentarian of the works of Japanese Gore Hound Noboru Iguchi, NEW NEIGHBOR promises to be a creepy psychodrama exploration of repressed sexuality. A mid-20s secretary lives in an abyss of unwanted advances from strange men and sexual harassment at her Tokyo office. Worse is the daily hounding her mother gives her to find a husband who can offer her financial security before age renders her looks unsellable. One day a woman of the same age moves into the apartment next door. The girl is shocked to hear through their common wall the unrelenting sounds of her neighbor's sexual escapades. As a parade of men and women visits the woman's room at all hours of the night, the girl is both repulsed and fascinated by her new neighbor's brazen sexuality. One night the girl decides to venture into the woman's unlocked room. What she finds is beyond anything she could have imagined
NEW NEIGHBOR will be playing Monster Festival 2013 later in the year. Definitely keep an eye out for it.
