It's always great when Drafthouse Films gives us insight into a cult classic we might not have seen before, or even when it takes one of our old favourites and gives it the restoration and special theatrical and blu-ray release it deserves. Personally, I can't imagine going back to a world where I didn't know about the existence of the dodgily magnificent '80s neon martial arts masterpiece, MIAMI CONNECTION. Now, Drafthouse Films is back with a release of 'The Sci-Fi Epic that 1979 Couldn't Handle," the "Mount Everest of Insane Italian Films," THE VISITOR.

Jason Eisener (director of the fantastic HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN) has, much like he did with the previously mentioned MIAMI CONNECTION, edited together an incredible trailer for the film which makes us want to see it immediately. Americans will be treated to a theatrical release of the film from tomorrow until sometime in the new year. The rest of us will have to wait to import the (probably annoyingly region-locked) blu-ray in the near future.
