Check out a Full Trailer for Takashi Miike's latest THE MOLE SONG: UNDERCOVER AGENT REIJI
Posted by Daniel Mann (Follow me @danielma861) Never fear for Maverick Cult Director Takashi Miike has returned with his bravado style. Miike may be verging into his fifties, but he still has unbridled energy of a twenty year old as he keeps pumping out film after film, year after year. His latest - THE MOLE SONG: UNDERCOVER AGENT REIJI - is an adaptation of the Takahashi Noburo manga of the same name. As you can no doubt tell from the trailer, this is Miike at his most brash and outlandish. Some choice moments include a Nude guy strapped to the hood of a speeding car, gangsters with a grill of bling, all soaked in a pallet of colourful visuals complete with gleefully over the top performances from all involved. And who said that turning Fifty meant you had to slow down in life? Apparently Miike never got that memo in life as this trailer screams of vintage Miike and boy do I love him for it. Synopsis (Courtesy of Twitch) Rookie cop Reiji has a strong sense of justice, but he graduated from the police academy with the lowest score ever! His police chief fires him for dishonorable conduct, but he is secretly ordered to become a mole and go undercover to infiltrate a crime syndicate. The target is the head of the mighty Sukiya-kai yakuza clan. Undercover agent Reiji manages to become the new favorite of the notorious "Crazy Papillon," a violent yakuza big shot. As Reiji pretends to prepare to vow his allegiance to the yakuza, he gets pulled into internal power struggles and conflicts leading to one wild & crazy situation after another!
