Crowd-Funded Film THE BOOK is an Italian Horror Fan's Dream

Look, it's no secret that Italian horror is my favourite kind of horror. Earlier in the year, my wife and I got to visit Dario Argento and Luigi Cozzi's PROFONDO ROSSO horror store in Rome (where we got to meet Cozzi) and it was totally awesome.
With that in mind, the news of a crowd-funding campaign to create a horror anthology titled THE BOOK, written, directed and scored by my favourite people in Italian horror, is the kind of news that makes me extremely happy. Check out the video above! THE BOOK will consist of 12 episodes, each of which directed by an Italian horror master. Check out the line-up: LAMBERTO BAVA (SHOCK, MACABRE, DEMONS (1&2), BODY PUZZLE)
ANTONIO BIDO (BLOODSTAINED SHADOW, CAT WITH THE JADE EYES, BLUE TORNADO)
ENZO G. CASTELLARI (COLD EYES OF FEAR, THE HOUSE BY THE EDGE OF THE LAKE, THE LAST SHARK, INGLORIOUS BASTARDS)
LUIGI COZZI (THE KILLER MUST KILL AGAIN, CONTAMINATION, STARCRASH, THE BLACK CAT, PAGANINI HORROR)
ALBERTO DE MARTINO (THE ANTICHRIST, SCENES FROM A MURDER, HOLOCAUST 2000)
RUGGERO DEODATO (CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK, LAST CANNIBAL WORLD, CUT AND RUN) ALDO LADO (NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS, SHORT NIGHT OF THE GLASS DOLLS)
UMBERTO LENZI (NIGHTMARE CITY, SEVEN BLOOD-STAINED ORCHIDS, THE MAN FROM DEEP RIVER, EATEN ALIVE, GHOST HOUSE, CANNIBAL FEROX) EDOARDO MARGHERITI (IN THE EYES OF A KILLER, SIX STEPS INTO GIALLO, BLACK COBRA) SERGIO MARTINO (TORSO, ALL THE COLOURS OF THE DARK, THE STRANGE VICE OF MRS. WARDTH, MOUNTAIN OF THE CANNIBAL GOD, THE CASE OF THE SCORPION’S TAIL, YOUR VICE IS A LOCKED ROOM AND ONLY I HAVE THE KEY) TONINO VALERII
(MY NAME IS NOBODY)
How freakin' amazing is that list of directors? To top it off, the script will be provided by DARDANO SACCHETTI (THE BEYOND, DEMONS, MANHATTAN BABY) and the film will be scored by GOBLIN and CLAUDIO SIMONETTI’S GOBLIN. Honestly, how can you call yourself a horror fan and not support this? I'm gonna head over to the film's INDIEGOGO page and contribute some money right now. I hope you do the same so we can get this awesome project underway! What is your favourite Italian horror film? Tell us in the comments below!
