Millions

“A pair of brothers discovers a duffle bag with thousands of dollars stashed inside it. The eldest brother lavishes this new found mini-fortune, meanwhile the younger brother tries to pass the cash on to those who are less fortunate. However, a random duffle bag full of cash doesn’t just fall out of the sky. Eventually the bags rightful owner -- a mob enforcer – comes searching for the money.

‘Millions’ shares a similar setup to Sam Raimi’s ‘A Simple Plan’. Although the themes of both films are somewhat opposed, as ‘Millions’ concerns itself with the exploration of faith as seen through the eyes of a child. The youngest brother Damian is coming to terms over the untimely death of his Mother. Such a burden leaves Damian with the need to do as many good deeds as possible in hope that he can see her again someday. Directed with stylish abundance by Danny Boyle, ‘Millions’ is ultimately a feel good family film that manages to be both offbeat and sentimental in flavour. ”
