War is Coming in the Teaser Trailer for THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES

War. What is it good for? Well, hopefully it will rekindle that Middle Earth magic in THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES that the first two Hobbit films didn't really achieve. Don't get me wrong, they're visually striking, entertaining films, but they also lack the urgency and power of THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, no matter what kind of sombre music is laid over the top of it. None of the events in the Hobbit films so far seem to justify their three hour running times. There hasn't been an equivalent of The Battle at Helm's Deep or Minas Tirith.
This trailer for the final film in the Hobbit trilogy however, looks like a big step in the right direction. Major shit is about to go down, with all the best CGI armies that money can buy assembling for a huge smackdown. It's going to be a digital (orc)bloodbath.
The film will be out this Boxing Day in 2D, 3D, 3D HFR and 3HD2FR2D2. Check out the embedded teaser trailer, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
